I use this for lasagna sauce or add sautéed mushrooms for spaghetti.
Molho de Tomate (Portugese)

Adjust the amount of each item if you like more.
garlic
parsley & Italian herbs
organic butter or olive oil
dash nutmeg
1/4 cup (60 ml) chopped carrots
1 Tbs. (15 ml) flour
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/2 lb. (225 g) tomatoes, chopped or large can of crushed tomatoes
1/2 bay leaf

1/2 cup (125 ml) white wine
pinch of sea salt

1. Sauté garlic, carrots, onions, bay leaf, parsley, nutmeg, and flour until onions are tender.
2. Add rest of the ingredients.
3. Simmer 20-30 minutes.
