ब्रोकोली और ग्रीन बीन्स
/brōkōlī aura grīna bīnsa/ (Hindi)
serves 4
We went to a U-pick farm by our house. After picking a box of Gravenstein apples, we wondered over to the green bean plants. Rows and rows of plants about knee high. It only took minutes to fill our buckets.
This receipt was modified from a "Hot Carrots & Beans". Since we had no carrots and a lot of broccoli, it turned out great!
1 lb, (450 g) of broccoli, trim off the thick stock and save for a stir-fry dish
1/2 lb. (225 g) of green beans, trim the ends and cut in half
1 sliced onion or a bunch of scallions
4 Tbs. (30 ml) oil olive
1 tsp. (5 ml) each: cumin, cilantro or parsley, cardamon, honey, and lime or lemon juice
2 or more cloves of crushed garlic
optional: 1/2 cup (240 g) of toasted cashews
1. Cook the broccoli and beans in a saucepan covered in boiling water, 5-6 minutes. Drain afterwards.
2. Heat the oil in a skillet, add the broccoli, beans, cumin, cilantro/parsley, and cardamon. Cook for 2 minutes.
3. Stir in the garlic, honey and lemon/lime juice. Cook another 2 minutes while stirring occasionally.
3. Serve with sprinkled chopped cilantro or parsley, (optional cashews), and garnished with slices of lime or lemon.
