We had fried tofu with a stir-fry vegetable dish. This one has garlic added and the tofu can be added to many different dishes, example with pasta.
ニンニク豆腐 (Japanese)
/nin'niku tōfu/
Serve by itself for 4 people

1 pound (450 g) organic firm or extra-firm tofu
1 tsp. (5 ml) garlic powder or a chopped clove of garlic
some black pepper
1 Tbs. (15 ml) coconut oil or olive oil

1. Put the tofu in the microwave bowl and microwave for 30 seconds to remove most of the water.
2. Slice the tofu in half, then into cubes or desired amounts.
3. Preheat the skillet over medium-high heat.
4. In a bowl, combine the tofu squares, garlic, pepper and toss.
5. Add the oil to the skillet. Add the tofu so they are not touching and are flat on the skillet.
6. Cook about 3-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
7. Serve as a side dish or in other recipes.
