Apple season is about over. Autumn is here, and we have lots of apples. Applesauce is easy to make and serve as a side-dish with most meals.

Preheat the oven to 350F (175C)
2 organic oranges, zested and juiced
1 organic lemon, zested and juiced
6 one type of organic apples (example: Granny Smith)
6 another type of organic apples (example: Honey Crips)
½ cup (120 ml) organic brown sugar
4 Tbs. (60 ml) (dairy-free) butter
2 tsp. (10 ml) cinnamon
1. Place the zests and juices in a bowl.
2. Quarter and core apples.
3. Add the apples and juice into a Dutch oven.
4. Add sugar, butter, and cinnamon.
5. Cover and bake 90 minutes.
6. Mix with a potato masher.
7. Serve warm or at room temperature.
8. Store in a jar with a lid, in the refrigerator.
