Instead of squeezing the bottle, try making your own version.
1 cup (240 ml) chopped organic onions
1/2 cup (120 ml) each organic: shredded carrots and chopped celery
2 tsp. (10 ml) thyme
1 tsp. (5 ml) mustard powder
1/2 tsp. (2,5 ml) cayenne
pinch or two of cinnamon
2 Tbs. (30 ml) organic tomato paste
1 Tbs. (15 ml) organic honey
28-ounce (785 g) crushed organic tomatoes
1/4 cup (60 ml) red wine vinegar
1. In a saucepan, combine the onions, carrots, celery, thyme, mustard, cayenne, cinnamon, tomato paste, and honey.
2. Stir in 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) water. Bring to a simmer.
3. Cook until the vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.
4. Add the crushed tomatoes and vinegar.
5. Simmer until the sauce is very thick, about 30 minutes.
6. Optional, blend the mixture to desired thickness.
