An old Japanese mother's belief that raw vegetables were not good for you. She would cook or marinate them so that the children (子供達 /kodomodachi/) were incline to eat more vegetables. 
/su/
lit. vinegar

1/4 cup (60 ml) rice vinegar
1 Tbs. (15 g) organic sugar
1/2 tsp. (2,5 ml) soy sauce or gluten-free liquid aminos

1. In a small bowl, stir the ingredients.
2. Marinate the vegetables, example
cucumbers           daikon spinach
carrots okra etc.


Try 
cucumber with vinegar dressing (Add shrimp if you like.)

/nori ninja sarada to tofu/



Okra 
オクラ /okura



spinach sesame 
ほれんそう の ごま あえ /horensou no goma-ae/
