Ancient Egyptians* offered asparagus to the noble people nearly 3000 BCE! Ancient Syrians, Spanish, Greeks, and Romans ate it in season and dried in winter. Romans even froze it high in the Alps. So buy a lot in seasons and freeze for those winter special asparagus dishes.
Serve 2

In the summer or come winter (take out the frozen asparagus):
12 asparagus spears
2 Tbs. (30 ml) mayonnaise
1/2 Tbs. (7 ml) each: brown mustard and organic lemon juice
1 tsp. (5 ml) organic lemon peel

*wa |. Place asparagus in a medium bowl. Microwave on High for 2 minutes or until crisp.
sen ||. Whisk mayonnaise, mustard, and lemon in a small bowl. 
chemet |||. Stir in 1/2 tsp. (2,5 ml) lemon peel.
feden ||||. Spoon mayonnaise mixture over asparagus.

       ||. Sprinkle with remaining lemon juice.

If you want to grown your own, 
it takes two years to harvest the first crop!
