Use any type of chutney you like to add an interesting flavor to the tofu, also known as bean curd. Tofu can be frozen but will have a little different taste. 

Side note: Tofu first originated in China over 2000 years ago. The coagulated, pressed soy milk blocks have spread to other cuisines in East and Southeast Asia, as well as around the world today.

Serves 3-6

4 Tbs. (60 ml) olive oil
1 tsp. (2 g) each: dried basil and oregano
6 slices of extra-firm organic tofu
3 minced organic garlic cloves

1. Spread a mixture of 2 Tbs. (30 ml) olive, basil and oregano over the tofu.
2. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
3. Add the rest of the oil to a skillet over medium heat.
4. Sauté the garlic for a minute.
5. Lay the tofu slices in the oil and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side.
6. Serve with chutney on top.
