Pickled onions are rich in folate (vitamin B9), which can improve cardiovascular health and reduce risk of stroke, as well as vitamin C, calcium, potassium, and magnesium.


Simple and fast

1/4 red organic onion, thinly sliced
white vinegar

1. Put the onions in a small bowl with enough white vinegar just to cover it.
All done!
2. They will keep up to 2-4 weeks in the refrigerator, in sterilize jar(s).

Additional options, add:
  • organic garlic cloves
  • sliced jalapeño(s)
  • bay leaf (leaves)
  • red pepper flakes
  • organic sugar
  • black peppercorns
  • favorit herb(s)

Now what?
Well, they can be used in:
  • sandwiches, burger, wraps, grilled cheese, BBQ sauce, etc.
  • any Mexican foods: tocos, burritos, nachos, meat, fish, etc.
  • lettuce and potato salads
  • hot dogs
  • sea foods
  • stew or chili
  • avocado toast
  • dips with: sour cream, yogurt, etc.
  • marinade or salad dressing
  • over vegetables
  • cocktails (pickled red onions + gin = pink Gibson)
